Hawaiian Falls was the second course Ry and I played during our short stint in Daytona Beach. The first, Congo River, was a dream: well-maintained greens, interesting design, a fun safari theme, and even live gators. Hawaiian Falls, on the other hand, seems like its seen better days.

Many of the greens showed some obvious signs of wear and tear. Coming from the land of ice and snow as we do, we've come to understand that wear and tear is just part of the game. Considering the mild Florida weather, however, I couldn't help wondering how long some of the holes had gone since they last saw some fresh artificial turf. Ironically enough, the real landscaping was gorgeous.

Another odd aspect of this course is the level of difficulty. Some of the holes are pretty simple aim and putt scenarios. However, there are a handful of holes that are fairly challenging or impossible to execute properly due to little things like oh say geometry and gravity.

If you like your mini followed by a healthy serving of ice cream, you can always hit up Cow Lick's as we did.

Overall experience was not unpleasant. Hawaiian Falls just needs a little TLC!

**UPDATED February 6, 2018: Some recent nostalgia Googling brought it too my attention that the course is now called Aloha Falls. It looks like the owners have done quite a bit of upkeep. Kudos to them! If we are ever back in the Daytona area, we will definitely stop on by again.
