No one loves a good pun as much as us -- so the fun and whimsy in the name Putt'er There was enough to push this course onto our "must play" list this summer.
But we're not here to talk about puns. We're here to talk about MINI GOLF. And Putt'er There is definitely putting the MINI back in miniature golf. The layout of the course is fairly simplistic in design. The holes are short, and the greens are narrow. Sometimes, the greens are so narrow it makes it awkward to putt. Putt'er There is definitely designed with a smaller player in mind (i.e. kidlets and wee ones). We conquered the course in a remarkably short time.
Because of the relatively simple course and hole design, we probably won't be hitting up Putt'er There regularly. That being said, I can see how the course would make for a fun first date for the less competitive mini players. The course is easy for beginners, and extremely affordable to play. That, coupled with its primo location in the heart of Como Park in Saint Paul, makes Putt'er There an excellent option for new couples or families with young kids looking for a day of fun at the park.
**UPDATED August 24, 2017: We are heartbroken to hear that Putt'er There may soon cease operations. Bid war with the city it sounds like. BOO. Though this wasn't one of our favorite courses, we always mourn when there is less mini in this world.
